Captain Jack's helped me to organize a wine tasting trip in Santa Ynez for 20 guests for my wife's 50th birthday. The day was unbelievable, could not have been better, and Donna was the perfect guide sharing the right amount of information on the bus without coming across as an overbearing tour guide. She was so accomodating that we quickly adopted her as part of our group and thoroughly enyoyed her company throughout the day. Donna was efficient and professional making sure that each winery we visited was ready for us and gave us excellent attention and service. As an added bonus Captain Jack himself even met us at one of our stops (an olive oil tasting that I highly recommend). I'm sure you can imagine the stress involved in organizing a weekend away for twenty adults for my wife's birthday. Captain Jack's made it completely stress free and enjoyable from the initial call to the actual event.Allen, Aliso Viejo
Eletta, Kaiser Permanente
Thank you to Captain Jack & the entire team for all the effort you put into making 5/21 one of the most memorable team building days for my Kaiser Permanente managers. Please accept my gratitude and know that I will be referring you to everyone at this company as the one and only place to seek these services! Thanks again all!!!
I recently planned a wine tour for 45 people(customers) through Captain Jacks. Not only did they make the planning effortless, but our tour guide, Michelle, was top notch. She was knowledgable, enthusiastic and just plain fun. The wineries that they selected for us to visit were amazing both in scenery and product and the olive oil tasting was a wonderful touch that I am certain my customers won't soon forget. Thank you Captain Jacks for an incredible day. I can't wait to book our next event.
Subani, Orange County Cub Scouts
Dear Captain Jack,
This was our first major outing as a Cub Scout Pack and none of us knew what to expect. As promised, Andrew was at the train station waiting for us which was really comforting because most of us were new to Santa Barbara. We were a large group of 36 people which comprised of mostly kids. Although the kids and parents made a lot of noise the staff were not bothered or irritated by any of us. Your staff patiently waited and helped us to get organized into pairs for the kayaking tour. Some of us were extremely nervous about kayaking but your staff helped reassure us and we are able to conquer our fears. When we were finished kayaking your staff waited patiently for us to go on the bus tour.
In addition, Erin was extremely kind, gentle and patient while working with the younger siblings and parents who were nervous about kayaking. Marcus was also caring and empathetic while dealing with one of the 3rd graders who was extremely nervous about kayaking. To help this 3rd grader relax Marcus pulled a starfish out of the water to show him the beauty that lies within the water. Before we came on this trip I asked Andrew to pick a staff that was good with kids and he did a great job. Andrew was also very organized and caring while working with our group. The 3rd grader that I assigned to Andrew was so enthused when he found out Andrew was his kayaking partner. Loren was very culturally sensitive, greeting us accordingly, and he was very knowledgeable during the bus tour. During our bus tour everyone was pretty noisy however Loren was not bothered at all by this.
Lastly, all of us had such a blast, and I cannot thank the staff enough for making this trip so wonderful! From beginning to end your staff was caring, reliable, patient, understanding, professional, and knowledgeable. We thought your staff was so wonderful that we recommended your tour to our other dens, and we plan on coming back again during the summer. Thanks again for a memorable experience!
Amy, Bridlewood Winery
I have had the chance to work with Capt Jack and his staff both on events for the winery and personally as a consumer. Both experiences have been wonderful. The staff is friendly and hospitable. It’s a great balance of education and fun.
John & Janet, Mississippi Gulf Coast
Dear Capt. Jack – Just wanted to let you know, John and I had a fantastic time hiking and kayaking with you a few weeks ago. We couldn't have asked for a better tour package. The hike was not too strenuous, with just enough history and folklore to be educational and mostly great fun. To top it all off with a soak in the hot springs; this can't be found too many other places. A scrumptious lunch (too much good food) with an afternoon of kayaking off the beautiful Gaviota Coast was better than we could have hoped for. Your ability to swap tour components around to work with the weather works really well with the coastal weather of California. We had a blast and hope we can do it again sometime.
Kayaking was excellent fun. We had great weather and not too much waves. Sea lions swam right next to us and pelican birds dived in for fish -first time we've seen these creatures. We also saw the Kelp, which was very interesting. Our guide explained to us that they grow up two feet a day, which definitely made it more interesting, and that crabs could be found on the surface leaves, and within a minute we found one! The horseback ride was something I won't forget for years to come. I felt like I was in a scene from a cowboy movie. Spectacular views and real cowboy guides. My girlfriend said that this was the best birthday of her life! Thank you very much!
Brian, Pasadena, CA
My wife and I received a Top Deck Tour gift certificate as a wedding present and had a fantastic day of adventure starting off with sea kayaking, followed by wine & olive oil tasting and topping the day off with a sunset sailing cruise. Our guide for the day was excellent – fun, friendly, and professional (good driving, opened doors for us, collected wine glasses and purchases from us to pack neatly in the vehicle, prompt). We highly recommend Captain Jack’s and we plan to return for more of their adventures.
Holly, Lomita, CA
As a surprise for my hubby, I booked a tour with Captain Jack and his microbrewery tasting tour. It was $50 plus a small gratuity for three microbreweries, and included pick-up and drop-off from our Santa Barbara B & B and all tasting fees. We went to Island Brewing Co (8 tastes), Brewhouse (9 tastes), and Telegraph (4 tastes plus a free 10 ounce of your choice). We had lunch at Brewhouse which was not included in the cost, but offered a large menu with items starting around $7 for a burger and fries. We also got to meet the brewmaster, Pete, who took us on a small and informative tour of the brewery -- he was a great guy who had a story about all his beers. We especially liked his own unique brews, the dark lager Obamanator and his Habanero beer - great fun! Our guide was fun, friendly, and informative. He really knew his beers and was able to keep up on the beer talk with my beer loving hubby. He had an ice-filled chest ready for our growler and bottle buys, too -- nice touch! We're looking forward to our next tour with Captain Jack and his team. They also offer kayak tours, wine tasting tours and horseback riding. From start to finish they are a class act.
