Dear Captain Jack,
This was our first major outing as a Cub Scout Pack and none of us knew what to expect. As promised, Andrew was at the train station waiting for us which was really comforting because most of us were new to Santa Barbara. We were a large group of 36 people which comprised of mostly kids. Although the kids and parents made a lot of noise the staff were not bothered or irritated by any of us. Your staff patiently waited and helped us to get organized into pairs for the kayaking tour. Some of us were extremely nervous about kayaking but your staff helped reassure us and we are able to conquer our fears. When we were finished kayaking your staff waited patiently for us to go on the bus tour.
In addition, Erin was extremely kind, gentle and patient while working with the younger siblings and parents who were nervous about kayaking. Marcus was also caring and empathetic while dealing with one of the 3rd graders who was extremely nervous about kayaking. To help this 3rd grader relax Marcus pulled a starfish out of the water to show him the beauty that lies within the water. Before we came on this trip I asked Andrew to pick a staff that was good with kids and he did a great job. Andrew was also very organized and caring while working with our group. The 3rd grader that I assigned to Andrew was so enthused when he found out Andrew was his kayaking partner. Loren was very culturally sensitive, greeting us accordingly, and he was very knowledgeable during the bus tour. During our bus tour everyone was pretty noisy however Loren was not bothered at all by this.
Lastly, all of us had such a blast, and I cannot thank the staff enough for making this trip so wonderful! From beginning to end your staff was caring, reliable, patient, understanding, professional, and knowledgeable. We thought your staff was so wonderful that we recommended your tour to our other dens, and we plan on coming back again during the summer. Thanks again for a memorable experience!
